Advanced Zip Repair(AZR) is a powerful tool to repair corrupt Zip files and Self Extracting files(SFX). It can recover your data in zip archives as much as possible, so to minimize the loss in file corruption.

Advanced Zip Repair(AZR) supports all versions of Zip format (up to ZIP File Format Specification Version 4.0) and all kinds of SFX files created by different applications.

If Zip data are corrupted partially, different applications, such as AZR and WinZip may possibly use slightly different algorithms to extract the corrupted data. So if items in a Zip file are partially corrupted, it is better to unzip the fixed Zip file with AZR again. To do this, please:

	1.	Input your corrupted file name to 'Select Zip or Self extracting file to be repaired' edit box.
	2.	Input a filename with '.exe' extension to the 'Output fixed file' edit box.
	3.	Click "Start Repair", AZR will repair the corrupted Zip file and generate a new self-extracting Zip file for it.
	4.	Run the self-extracting Zip file and unzip the files in it.

For example, you want to repair a file named MyFiles.zip, then if you specify the "Output fixed file" with an '.exe' extension, for example, MyFiles_fixed.exe, AZR will repair the Zip file and generate a self-extracting Zip file named MyFiles_fixed.exe. This self-extracting Zip file uses the same decompression engine as AZR, so you can extract the partially corrupted items by executing it.

To repair spanned zip files(assume the file name is 'myspan.zip'), please do as follows:

	1.	Start Advanced Zip Repair and click "Repair Spanned/Split File" tab.
	2.	Click "Add A Part" button to add myspan.zip on the first zip disk to the list.
	3.	Click "Add A Part" button to add myspan.zip on the second zip disk to the list.
	4.	Repeat step 3 until myspan.zip on all the zip disks have been added into the list. Please note you must preserve the order of the parts when adding them to the list. That is, you need to first add myspan.zip on the first disk, then the one on the second disk, and so on. If one part is missed or corrupt, then you can just ignore it and continue with the next one.
	5.	After myspan.zip on all the zip disks have been added, specify the fixed file name in "Output fixed file as:" text box, for example, myspan_fixed.zip.
	6.	Click "Start Repair" button to start the repair process.
	7.	After the repair process, a new fixed file named myspan_fixed.zip is generated, which contains the data of all parts of the spanned file. You can open it with popular Zip utilities, such as WinZip, WinRAR, etc.

The internal data and structures of split Zip files are identical to those of spanned Zip files. The only differences between them are the names of the parts of the file, that is:

Each part of a split Zip file has a different extension (such as 'mysplit.z01', 'mysplit.z02', etc., and 'mysplit.zip' for the last part). While all parts of a spanned Zip file have the same name (such as 'mysplit.zip').

Therefore, the way to repair your split Zip files is just similar to that for spanned Zip files(assume your split file names are 'mysplit.z01', 'mysplit.z02', ..., 'mysplit.zip'), as follows:

	1.	Start Advanced Zip Repair and click "Repair Spanned/Split File" tab.
	2.	Click "Add A Part" button to add mysplit.z01 to the list.
	3.	Click "Add A Part" button to add mysplit.z02 to the list.
	4.	Repeat step 3 until all the split Zip files, i.e. mysplit.z01, mysplit.z02, ..., mysplit.zip, have been added into the list. Please note you must preserve the order of the parts when adding them to the list. That is, you need to first add mysplit.z01, then mysplit.z02, and so on. If one part is missed or corrupt, then you can just ignore it and continue with the next one. In addition, please make sure the last split file, i.e. mysplit.zip, is also added in the end.
	5.	After all the split Zip files have been added, specify the fixed file name in "Output fixed file as:" text box, for example, mysplit_fixed.zip.
	6.	Click "Start Repair" button to start repairing the split file.
	7.	After the repair process, a new fixed file named mysplit_fixed.zip is generated, which contains the data of all parts of the split file. You can open it with popular Zip utilities, such as WinZip, WinRAR, etc.
